RATE this photo: Pruett "wipes away tears as she is acknowledged by Bush"
It's currently at 1-1/2 stars. It's propaganda, it's bullshit, it's a deliberate slap in the face to Cindy Sheehan from a worthless, gutless, cowardly, A.W.O.L., substance-abusing, Oedipal scumbag.

VOTE ACCORDINGLY.

"Mother of four sons currently deployed to Iraq, Tammy Pruett (C), wipes away tears as she is acknowledged by US President George W. Bush during his address at the Idaho Center Arena in Nampa, Idaho, where Bush spoke on the continuing efforts of America's troops in Iraq. The salute to Pruett was a clear response to anti-war protestor Cindy Sheehan, who has besieged the president at his Texas ranch and demanded a meeting with him to discuss the death of her soldier son in Iraq.(AFP/Jim Watson) Email Photo Print Photo"

2. wow. does that ever look like bush's deluded base behind her?
the row behind her...its like a tableau of stereotypical bush supporters: the self-hating closet anti-gay gay in khaki, the religious fervored adulant in robin's egg blue, the 6 pack Nascar Mom in red, and the tv evangelist bowl cut gray hair behind them in the "power" suit.

creepy.

Note I'm not talking about the grieving family, just those seated around them.

>Bush quoted Pruett: "'I know that if something happens to one of the boys, they would leave this world doing what they believe, what they think is right for our country. And I guess you couldn't ask for a better way of life than giving it for something that you believe in.'"

Even if what they "believe in" is a lie? It makes no difference if it's all one big fat-ass LIE????

40.  approach is hardly new:

"Naturally the common people don't want war... But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along... All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 10:44 AM by kansasblue
You need to consider that this is a parent that lost a child. Why? It's best to believe your child's life was taken for a noble cause. She working through her grief. She being honored. But you require her to make some political statement.

I agree the war is a load of crap but to insist that a grieving mother move from "nobel death" to "died for no good reason" is a little extreme.

Take on all the other citizens that fail to see the injustice of the war. Let this mother grieve and find comfort where she can.

kb

on edit I'm not sure her kids died but my sentiment is the same.

I don't think Pruett has lost a son. Until she does (which won't happen if the Bushistas have their way), I can't empathize with her in any way. She's being used by the pigs in the WH.

"She working through her grief?"

What grief?

ON EDIT: If one of her kids HAD died, I would have used different language in my original post. It's a slap at Cindy Sheehan, who DID lose a son, so I don;t think I'm going to "lighten up" anytime soon. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

10. As much as I despise Junior and company, I think those tears are real
If I had my whole damned family in Iraq, I'd be crying too.

If it were President Kerry, we'd be proud of him for acknowledging a military mom, as commander in chief and as a real veteran. As it is, we know Junior's use of Mrs. Pruett was for propaganda purposes only. Junior hasn't been to any military funerals and doesn't give one goddam about the "little people" who are dying so he and his Wall Street class can be rich. In fact, Junior hasn't fought in any war anywhere, so this whole thing with Pruett is a farce.

22. Hold on! Hold on!
Tammy Pruett was asked about Cindy Sheehan. I saw this morning on MSNBC. I'm looking for something in our local newspaper or TV. She truly understands Mrs. Sheehan's quest and mourns the loss of her son. Mrs. Pruett said, she didn't think she would do the same thing as Mrs. Sheehan. Her voice was very kind, very compassionate.

You're correct. It is NOT a mother against mother thing - don't make it. It's a Bush propaganda thing. I'm sure Mrs. Pruett is all too well aware that one of her sons may not come back alive or none of them may. Her husband, at least, is home safe.

29. She seems like a very nice woman
and I hope her sons all come home safely, and that they do nothing over there that for the rest of their lives they will have to live with.

She is being used, dragged out because of the number of members of her family who are there, not because Bush gives a damn about her. Even my Repub friends found this to be a despicable use of decent people who really do love their country, unlike the man who is using them to try to save his cowardly rearend.

She and Cindy would get along very well, I think ~ one day they probably will.

I wish he'd stop embarrassing the country, hiding from grieving mothers and then using other mothers to hide behind. It's so thoroughly disgusting.

Chimpy used her in his incoherent speech and never mentioned that her sons and husband (all in the National Guard) should be doing NATIONAL things...not being in a PNAC oil war far away in the bloody desert.

If Tammy DARES to speak out against the war IN ANY WAY, she will be pillared and hung out to dry as a traitor.

Be very afraid, Tammy. Your loved ones may die in Chimpy's War or if you dare speak your mind, you will be called a traitor.

The lowlifes ridicule Cindy Sheehan for her tears are no doubt climaxing all over this one.

47. I would cry too, if I had kids in Iraq
she is just a pawn.

Cindy's protest is the catalyst for the anti-war movement sweeping America; she has, in effect, created it. Bush is trying to diffuse it by creating a pro-war counter-movement and grasping for a Cindy-counterpoint(mom); Mrs. Pruett won that lottery.

Mrs. Pruett has every right to weep for her children- wouldn't you? I would not pick on her or compare her to Cindy; she is just another victim of the cowardly, arrogant, evil and breathtakingly stupid B*sh admin. and their facilitators, the MSM, and their con job on America.

An eternity to roast in Hell is not good enough for these sociopaths.
