Qualls wants to DEBATE Cindy? Give me a fucking BREAK.
http://www.kwtx.com/home/headlines/1803517.html

The father of a slain Central Texas Marine appears in a new TV spot that began airing Thursday, challenging anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan to a debate.

In the spot, Gary Qualls, whose son, Marine Lance Cpl. Louis Qualls, died in 2004 in Iraq, takes Sheehan to task for calling the President a liar and for erecting a cross bearing his son’s name as part of what he calls “your sick cause.”

“Cindy, how can you be so cruel?” Qualls asks in the spot.

“I am challenging you to a debate, “ he says. “I am waiting.”

2. I don't think Mr. Qualls quite understands what a debate entails.
He must have either enormous faith in his somewhat limited faculties--or KKKarl Rove is going to set him up with a magic black box and earpiece.

7. Perhaps he should call her Ms. Sheehan ...
... for starters. I'm sorry to hear of his loss, but it sounds like he has been drinking the Kool-Aid for a while.

I wonder whether the loss of his son gives him a personal sense of pride (a reflection of his own inadequacy), or whether he just chalks it up to "shizzit happens?" I would not be so quick to write off my child and blindly accept what got us to this dangerous point.

Believe me, I'm not usually a tin foil hatter, but something about this whole thing smells like a Rove setup. Just a gut feeling.

13. If Cindy decides to debate Qualls, she should do so on HER terms, not his.
She should pick a non-partisan moderator, who is good at moderating debates, but who will assertively cut off and admonish Qualls if he decides to behave like an bully towards her.

20. If it were to happen, Cindy should walk out with a lifesize cardboard
cutout of Qualls in the embrace with Cindy at Camp Casey, and stand it behind her podium, say "I love you, Casey" and turn and walk out.

Let the dumbass "debate" himself.

16. No debate needed,
Cindy has made her point. You can make up your own mind as to where you stand.
Why this woman needs to be "Swift Boated" because of her opinion is beyond me. Seem like a**holes like Limbaugh and Robertson get to give their opinions everyday.

that should be a prety easy debate.

Iraq did not have WMDs and everybody tried to tell Bush.

They were intent on war and they knew they would always have the support of morons like Qualls.

Casey and Louis very well may have lived. Be the Person our President isn't. Be more of a man than Bush ever was or will be. Debate the FACTS.

EVEN SADDAM HUSSEIN WAS TRYING TO GIVE BUSH INFORMATION ON THE WMD'S! HE WOULDN'T HEAR IT! BUSH WAS AFRAID TO FACE THE ENEMY.... ON A TV MONITOR FROM 6,000 MILES AWAY....WHILE SURROUNDED BY SS AGENTS WITH MILITARY ON HIGH ALERT JUST INCASE BUSH FLUBED! THEN SENT AMERICA'S SONS AND DAUGHTERS TO FACE AND CAPTURE THAT ENEMY WITHOUT ENOUGH ARMORED VEHICLES AND BULLET PROOF VESTS!

:grr: :banghead: :nuke:

Ahhhh, I feel much better now. :)

26. READ this ( i think it is him)
Texans bear heavy load in Fallujah fight

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Gary Qualls worried a lot after his son went off to war, so he went hunting last week to get his mind off it. When he got home, a letter was waiting.

His son, Marine Lance Cpl. Louis Qualls, wrote about the Fallujah offensive, that it was expected to include some of the fiercest battles of the war, and that his unit was in the thick of it.

"I fear it's a fight for my life," he wrote. "Dad, I need your prayers and advice more than ever. I know you've always been there for me, and I know you always will be."

About an hour later, there was a knock on the door. Qualls' other son answered it.

"He came back and said, 'Three Marines are on the front porch that want to talk to you,' " Gary Qualls said. "I started to cry and I went ahead and opened the door for them and said, 'Don't tell me it's about Louis,' and they nodded their heads."

Louis Qualls, of Temple, was killed Nov. 16 – the latest of 12 soldiers and Marines from Texas killed in combat this month.

Of the 1,230 military members who have died since the beginning of the war, at least 110 were from Texas, nearly 9 percent. The state has 7.5 percent of the U.S. population.

Among the Texans killed was Army Capt. Sean Sims, a "soldier's soldier" who once had his wife, a schoolteacher, arrange for her students to send cards and presents to a soldier who hadn't gotten any care packages.

As Sims' company went door to door in Fallujah on Nov. 13 to clear out pockets of resistance, a reporter from the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader tagged along.

"There's always going to be some left," Sims told the reporter. "They'll hide out and snipe at us for two months."

Within hours, Sims and another soldier were hit in an ambush.

He leaves behind an infant son.

"You just don't expect a company commander to be one of those guys that are killed – usually they're helping manage the fight," said Army Capt. Patrick Seiber, a former schoolmate in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University. But Sims "was going to be where the action is."

Marine Staff Sgt. Gene Ramirez, who grew up in San Antonio, could have opted to not return to the war zone because he had already served there and was his family's only surviving son.

His parents – his father Pedro also served in the Marines – urged him to use that option, but his cousin and fellow Marine Ruben Hernandez Sr. says Ramirez, 28, never would have.

"Gene was a hard charger, man, let me tell you," Hernandez said. "There's nothing I could have told him, or his dad or his mom."

For Hernandez, whose son Ruben Jr. is a Marine sergeant scheduled to be sent to Iraq early next year, Ramirez's death reverberated on several levels. Not only were they related by blood and uniform, Hernandez was also the recruiter who signed up Ramirez for the Marines back in the mid '90s.

"I felt guilty at first – 'Maybe if I didn't put him in and had him do something else...' " he said. "Well, he would have gone somewhere else and joined. That's the only thing that I say to myself right now."

Shortly before he was killed on Nov. 9, Marine Staff Sgt. Russell Slay wrote a letter to his family. In it the 28-year-old Humble resident, anticipating death, said his goodbyes to his young children.

He told his 9-year-old daughter Kinlee that he will miss her, but that she will always be his little girl and he will always watch out for her. To 5-year-old Walker, he offered advice that he hoped would put the boy on a less risky career path.

"Be studious, stay in school and stay away from the military," he wrote. "I mean it."

Like when that guy attacked Ann Richards in the TX gov. race debate, and when Lazio went after Hillary in their debate.

This guy wont be able to keep his cool, and American citizens will recoil at his ungentlemanly behavior.

Lets set this thing up.

smart for Mr. Qualls. I do not want to disrespect him because he did lose his son and grief is apparently making him do some crazy stuff.

But....now way he wins that one. He can't keep his cool for one minute.

33. She has two advantages:
She has her own natural intelligence, her courage, her wit, her DRIVE.

AND...she has the expertise / wisdom of the folks who have assisted her since camping out in Crawford.

She is NOT a lady to be messed with.
