Freeper co-worker spouting Hannity talking points at me
something about Cindy saying that Bush was as bad as a terrorist and that she was out of control. He was all wound up because Hannity had a liberal caller on, and he kept asking her to give him a yes or no answer on whether or not Cindy had gone to far.

My first comment was "Oh, you mean Hannity wasn't just shouting over her as usual? That was a change."

Then I calmly asked him if he supported Clinton in Bosnia. He said he didn't support Clinton in anything. So I showed him the quotes that are floating around here from various Republicans who didn't support Clinton.

I let him read the quotes, but then he was putting down Bosnia as a nothing engagement, just a few bombs and a slap on the wrist.

That's about when I stopped listening entirely. This is the same guy who used to bounce around by me chanting "flip flop flip flop flip flop" not something you really want to see a 50 year old over-weight man doing. I coulda slapped him.

1. I'd print out a list of Bush flip flops
and lay it on his desk. Then for the next few weeks, everytime I passed him I'd do the same damn thing. "flip flop flip flop flip flop"

and I'd laugh my ass off.

10. Because we've been silent for too long
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 10:06 PM by Rude Horner
And I'm tired of just taking this crap. These people have had their way for far too long. FUCK 'EM. I strike back until their heads explode.

Maybe shouting the facts at the top of our lungs doesn't work very often, but silence gets us nowhere everytime.

18. You're right!
Fight back!!!

Just because he's a right-wing asshole doesn't give him the right to dominate the office conversation!

I like the idea of printing out the bush flip-flops and putting one on his desk EVERY DAY...

6. Hello Newbie....
Freeper means Freerepublic. Just a general term used to reference a Shrub supporter. Check out the site if you want, but be warned of the utter nonsense that they speak.... :)

Speaking of which, I do make it a point of listening to them once in awhile. Remember what they said in the movie Godfather, "Keep your friends close but your enemies closer".

who worship the ground Bush walks on, thinks he does no wrong, and can't be reasoned with with logic. Facts mean nothing to them. Venture there at your own risk and be sure to wash up when you leave, as it's extremely slimy.

Oh, and welcome to DU!! :hi:

And also be aware that should you actually be tempted to post to the site even the slightest degree of actual logic and/or reasoned dissent from the chimp-in chiefs policies will likely get you flamed, banned or both first shot out of the box.

8. Last week in KC, I saw a car with two bumper stickers:
Bush Won Ha Ha Ha

and

"Liberal" - definition: someone so open-minded their brains fell out.

She must have been on the same maturity level as your co-worker.

What an asshole.

13. I work with a couple Freepers...we just don't talk politics anymore
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 10:05 PM by zulchzulu
I just laugh when they spout stuff to each other on issues...it's frankly like listening to a couple old biddies sharing old wives' tales.

They aren't worth losing any breath when discussing politics. I mean, would you try to teach your dog how to do math?

17. I'm surrounded by them
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 11:28 PM by LittleClarkie
I live in WI-5, Sensenbrenner's district.

I could slap a good half of my neighbors silly.

But it's sweet to see the occasional Kerry sticker.

They treat me differently now since the election. I went around wearing my Kerry button everywhere. That invited derision apparently. The only place that surprised me was my church. I go to church with a buncha Democrats, right in the middle of freeperville! Whoda thunk it.

22. I'm surrounded by them also.
I live in Cherokee County, Georgia, which is just about 100% red. Even when there are elections for local government offices, there is not one Democrat on the ballots.

Also, at my job, out of about 30 people, only about 6 of us are Democrats.

I feel your pain Rebel as I live in the land of anti evolution stickers...Marietta! I also work in the land of guns...Kennesaw! surprisingly though most of the medical providers (NPs and MDs) at my practice are democrats while the (MAs and front desk hourly workers) are staunch republicans of which a few have been on medicaid in the past and have filed for bankruptcy. Go figure.

25. Simply say that the Army gladly now enlists men of Hannity's age.
It's about time Hannity (and others like him) started "walking" their "talk." If Hannity's so war-hungry and pro-Bush, let him prove it on the REAL 'front-line.'
