Draft Mark Warner organization begins campaign...
Draft Mark Warner, the grassroots internet organization promoting Gov. Mark R. Warner for President in 2008, will conduct its first on-the-ground operation at a political event.

Warner will be the keynote speaker on Aug. 27 at the West Virginia Democratic Party’s Annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in Charleston, W. Va.

Draft Mark Warner state moderators from Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia will be on hand to meet and greet West Virginia Democrats and encourage them to start thinking now about getting behind a Warner presidential run in 2008.

“Since election day 2004, we have touted Mark Warner’s successes, sung his praises, and informed people across the U.S. about Warner’s forward-thinking management of Virginia,” said Eddie Ratliff, national chair of DraftMarkWarner.com.

“Governor Warner was the right man, at the right time, with the right bipartisan message in Virginia. His appeal is broad and he has garnered the respect of Democrats, Republicans, and independents. What he’s done for Virginia, he can and will do for the nation as president,” said Ratliff.

1. I've been interested in Warner for quite a while, but I don't know
anything about him, or what he's done for Va. I believe a Gov. has a lot better chance of being elected than any Sen. or Rep. does. He needs a lot more national exposure than he has right now.

Is there a web site or some articles that tell more about him?

6. It's gonna be very difficult for a "moderate" to spark the interest....
of the populace. There are too many important issues that need addressing to think a "moderate" will have the balls or the message to address them. That is why it's going to be so difficult for Hillary, also, in my opinion.

7. I'm not so sure about that.
Hillary will have problems, but not because she's playing moderat. Many people still HATE Bill, and that will carry over to Hillary, and there's nothing she can do about that. Look at how the Pubs still try to blame everything on Bill!

I really believe we need a Governor as our candidate. Look at history. The last person elected directly from the Senate was JFK! All the others were either VP's or Governors.

As much as you may not want to see a moderate candidate, I think it's mandatory because the majority of Americans are moderates, leaning either right or left, and they just can't comprehend radical change! That's part of the reason why Shrub's 3's are in the tank right now. He's pushing to refore SS, and people are afraid of that. He's trying to make the inheritance tax elimination permanent. And many other things that are just too much of a change for many people to accept.

I don't know much about Mark Warner, but I'm looking. So far, he sounds pretty good!

8. Where does he stand on the issues of our time....
War, debt, international relations, trade, human rights, etc?? Most moderates I read about don't seem to have an abundance of courage in speaking out.
