Was Jeffords jump in May 2001 one of the causes of 9/11.
When Vermont Senator Jim Jeffords left the GOP to become an independent-and switched control of the Senate over to the Democrats-did this enrage Bush enough to allow a terrorist attack? After seeing how he refused to give up on John Bolton, it seems like anything might be possible when he is angry.

5. He seems to be angry all the time, what a spoiled brat.
It doesn't matter the cause, if it is not a good day for him, he has to have his little fit. I'm the prez dammit and I can do what I want.

The administration began egging for the attack since before the election with Bush calling missles ready to hit Usama, trying to hit an empty tent in the middle of a desert, or trying to hit a camel in the butt.

PNAC had presented itself to Clinton during his presidency. Clinton denied the request to invade Iraq.

Operation Able Danger avoided telling Clarke and Clinton about Atta before election.

Bush and Cheney ignored the Hart-Ruddmann report after hearing it, a day after taking office.

Some of the hijackers arrived before Bush took office.

True, the rest arrived from about June to August.

Bush gets his PDBreifing.

HERE:
I cannot recall exactly when Jeffords switched. Doesn't matter.
The plan is in motion.
Upper level FBI keep Mousoui's computer uninvestigated.
Whistleblowers are ignored.

CONTINUE:
Anthrax is sent to Dashle(Senate head), Democrats only, and to "liberal" media. Despite Colin Powel holding viles while saying Iraq, the anthrax came from a secret Ft. Detrick lab and the perp is never found.
Bush calls Dashle and asks him not to investigate.
This stops the Senate from investigating.
The anthrax insures it, and its muted reporting if it does get investigated.

No, I can't see that Jeffords change was known enough in advance.

BUT:
Bush takes his unprecedented month-long vacation where he gets the PDB. Then, hidden from sight of large hijacked passenger jets he waits. He then goes around to one-storey schools reading to children. A week before 9/11 the Internet communications center holding .ir Iraq is raided and shut down for several days. This could have halted a halt order and caused the project to continue in a failsafe mode.

No, I only see that Jeffords offered a minor impediment to 9/11, overcome by antrax and a request from a president of the United States to not investigate that came in the dark days following the attack when everyone was behind the president.

EDIT: I think Iraq's internet suffix is .iq not .ir. I think it was Iraq's sold-to-an-internet-company's suffix that was in use for Usama's communications. After all, Usama hated Saddam since Saddam accepted Western values over Islamic law and so being able to buy .iq websites probably had a vindictive value for Usama binladen.
