Martin Sheen at Camp Casey II - article and photos:
Sheen began his speech with a brief history of vigils.

“It is an Irish tradition. When a person had a disagreement with a landlord, for example, that person would vigil outside that landlord’s home until he came out to talk with them,” he said. “You all know what I do for a living, but this is what I do to stay alive.”

3. That's my Prez! His character of Pres. Bartlett represents and IS
far more genuine and REAL that Shrub could ever be. How appropos that Pres. Bartlett stepped up in dignity in Shrub's absence...to honor in Presidential stature the fallen soldiers.

As Lennon would say "just imagine"...

4. I was particularly touched by this posting, thanks cyberpj.
I find too much irony in this story.

As Cindy Sheehan's promotes a peaceful vigil along with her unwaivering faith in Catholic practices, the hierarchy of the Catholic Church continues to promote the type of political activism that in 2004 led to the re-election of Bush.

We are a divided in our country and in our religions..........sounds a lot like some muslim nations I know of.
