A delicate balance?
As people suffer and die in LA and MS, we need to make note of the truth and what happened that allowed this disaster.

At the same time, it is tempting to want to galvanize the anger into more polarization.

To capitalize on the countless failings of the current administration.

At the same time, is there any Democrat who has not been ripped on these boards in recent days? Is there anyone at all whose motives, actions, words haven't been doubted and disregarded as disingenuous?

How does this help?

Most of all, how does it help the survivors?

What is going to help them the most?

A nation further divided and on the verge of our own Civil War, or a calm resolve to do everything in our power to help them.

The last thing they need is a bunch of frazzled aid workers and Guard further frazzled by more polarization and anger.

There are weapons out there, probably in the hands of a small minority, but that makes this on top of everything else a potential tinderbox the likes of which we've not seen in this nation in a long time, if ever.

I'm as angry as anyone over the failings that led to this situation, and the poor response.

But after thinking it over, after watching President Clinton attempting to still be Presidential and attempt to help calm to prevail, I can't think of anything I want more right now than for the survivors of Katrina to be rescued, given clean shelter, food, water, and respect.

I can't think of anything I want less than to see this tragedy compounded by needless violence and acrimony.

We gotta give them heck when they aren't doing their jobs, but is it really necessary to turn on everyone?

That is how it appears from here.

1. 4 Days and a lot of people lost or wounded, traumatized
in the meantime.

But since this was written many people are at least out of NO.

I'm giving this a kick :kick:

to remind us to focus our anger in the most productive ways.

And to say that I like seeing the anger at * et al, not our fellow Dems, except old Zell.
