Cripes, where would they be right now? When RW,ass kissing pundits on Whore TV are slaming Bush and his administrations then he's in serious deep shit.

He's fucked up BIG time on this,I think this will sink his lousy ass faster than Iraq.

4. Unfortunately, reason and objectivity seldom prevail.
We've been indoctrinated, as a nation, to flock around the 'boss' ("Daddy focus") when a crisis occurs. The "9/11 bounce" had absolutely nothing to do with anything Smirk did right or accomplished. Fifteen minutes of "My Pet Goat" alone should've dumped him in the shitter. It didn't.

9. There will be NO "Katrina bounce"
On 9/11 he at least made somewhat of an effort (after cowering all day, mind you) to look somewhat like a leader.

He's TOTALLY botched this one and EVERYONE knows it. His polls will fall and fall hard.

12. Sure, because he can't go "kill the bad guys!" for this one. And that's
all he knows how to do, so he's stuck playing a recorded message. Too bad for him. Worse for the rest of us. But schadenfreude should be some bitter comfort soon, I think.

5. Unfortunately, it took the death of innocents,
the old, the very young, mainly minorities, to achieve a waking up.

We've been asking for many months, "What will it take for people to wake up?"

Very regrettably, we've now had our answer.

6. It's shocking to me that I don't care anymore.
I just don't give a shit about his poll numbers. I don't care if they go up or down. Just let give those people some food, water, and a clean place to stay.

8. This will DEFINITELY sink his ass faster than Iraq.
Many more people have been to NOLA than have been to Iraq. Once you've been some place, it becomes much more a part of you and easier to feel sympathetic towards.

People won't soon forget the pathetic response to this catastrophe on our soil.

11. "Martial." I'll jump off that bridge when we get to it, I think.
First of all, he and all of us have to *make* it to '08. At this rate, it looks kind of iffy.

Maybe he won't get that far...

The press is onto him now. I mean, hearing Wolf Blitzer on today, talking about the years of scientific evidence that bush had, telling him this kind of disaster COULD be anticipated and was warned about, and noting that this was summarily ignored; seeing Jack Cafferty and Anderson Cooper getting mad about this, too (Cafferty noting that he's NEVER gotten so much email about anything before and it's ALL angry people dumping on the federal government); seeing the New York Times editorialize that this is now a pattern of johnnie-come-lately "responsiveness", his uninvolved detachment, his demeanor casual to the point of carelessness, worst speech of his life, and other instances, I think the levee of press toadyism and mindless, unquestioning stenography may be about to breach.

I think the much-yearned-for critical mass has been reached. It's just such a shame that it had to come amidst such misery. Hurricane george. FIVE YEARS of lotsa hurt.

But it may soon be over. As my husband says, it may not even take as long as 2006 or January 2007. bush's people may want to get out from under a genuine, unredeemable loser, and get rid of him themselves. After all, would YOU want yourself to be tied or to be perceived as affiliated with the most hated, reviled man in America?

Pretty soon, it'll be george WHO? Just like with Nixon. After Watergate, you couldn't find anybody willing to admit that they'd voted for him. Nobody wanted anything to do with him. Nobody wanted to know about him. He was the kiss of death. bush WILL be the Toxic Texan.

Meantime, let's help it along, and
Visualize IMPEACHMENT!!!!
Then go DO something about it.

13. I don't think so
You haven't seen anything yet.

He is supposed to tour the area tomorrow.

He's gonna try to capture the "magic" of 9/11 and have another "We're gonna smoke 'em outta their caves" moment.

21. Poll was taken Tuesday
We'll see but he isn't getting the unquestioning praise that he got post 9/11 or at the start of the war.

This time it appears that people dying may not help his numbers.

19. I've predicted he'll be well above 50% approval soon
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 08:46 AM by JugDack
..and so far everything I've seen indicates the country will come together behind his "brilliant leadership" the way we did post-9/11. Or at least, that's what the spin will be. I don't think he'll get anywhere near the 90% approval he had then, but I do think he'll get a BIG bounce from this. And yes, that's a tragedy of immense proportions, but that's the way it works here in Jesusland.
