New Orleans as, "this part of the world"? Does he run the world now? If he does, where was he 5 days ago?

1. Louisiana is very foreign to Bush. It's a cultural experience that

is unique.

3. Thanks,
It just sounded like he distanced himself to an extreem. Any way that was my first thought on it.

2. "This part of the world" is one of his phrases.

He thinks it makes him sound cultured. That, and his geography is so bad, he isn't trusted to say where he is, so he just says, "this part of the world". He uses it to refer to a country, a city, a state. . . anything.

Dubyaspeak.com has an entire section devoted to the phrase:

5. CYA. He looks like he's ready for a breakdown.
If he sticks with "this part of the world" he can't make a mistake. He knows for sure he is "somewhere in the world".

7. HE'S TALKING CODE FOR BLACKS: the Whites who hate blacks get this:
They hear it and they say: yeah: I know what you mean: its the niggers...we don't care nothing about these people....fewer Dem votes to contend with.

They go: THEY ASKED FOR IT.
They go: NOT WORTH SAVIN.
They go: TOO BAD THEY'RE PROJECTS WERE SO WELL BUILT.

THINK PEOPLE! You don't have to be overcome by this: you simply have to get in Rove's head enough to anticipate and come up w/ strategies to BURY HIM FOREVER.

8. This exact comment of his came up with some friends tonight.
Our conclusion was that it's his elitist, separatist, racist ideology showing. Like, it's "this part of the world" not HIS world. Or, the other thought we had was that it was his stating that he lived in another world, not like this one in NO; implying there were other worlds, other than the world he lived in. Basically, it's a way of saying, I think I'm better than you "folks."
