I just heard an estimated death toll for LA alone of 10,000 |
|
on my local Air America Affiliate on a local show.
An official down in LA gave the estimate.
It's more sad than I can comprehend. I had not heard anything nearly that high, and yet had to wonder about all the people walking through the water, all the people on rooftops, or who didn't make it to the rooftops.
As a participant in the antiwar demonstrations of the 1970's, I must repeat: "The whole world is watching!!"
A refrain that went up from the protestors as they clashed with the powers that were at the time, which was the era of the Nixon.
Bush is worse, yes.

3. I don't know how closely you all followed the days before the |
|
hurricane. I was following it pretty closely.
There was one expert who was saying that his worst nightmare was about to happen. He talked about the levees breaking and all the rest of it.
I hoped he was wrong, the person interviewing him hoped he was wrong, but he was pretty sure he was right.
It was either on CNN or the Weather Channel like on Sunday maybe.
That might be good video to keep a copy of.
Anyone else recall this and know who the expert was?

There's no way the NOLA death toll will be less than that.
