Is Ted Turner running CNN again? |
|
Because they have come in from the cold. They appear to have pulled back from the Bush cheerleading, neocon brink. They are telling it like it is.

They could revert back any day now. I just hope they keep it up. It is fresh broadcasting for a change!

3. Things have been in flux |

I think.
When Jon Stewart appeared and slammed Crossfire, CNN execs agreed and cancelled it.
Then they "lost" the one executive who commented about journalists being killed overseas.

4. Perhaps they see their market is starving for some objectivity. |
|
The nation seems to slowly be trending left; I suspect they smell money as the OPPOSITION tio FAUX.
It's my cynical take on it, but I will gladly "patronize" an objective news source.

5. Didn't George Soros sink a big chunk of $$$ into CNN a few months back? |
|
I remember it was around December or January, it's in the archives somewhere.

See this story. CNN makes it as plain as day laying out Brown and Chertoff comments in contrast to the reality: http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/02/katrina.response/

around. When she starts dumping on bush and doing critical commentary and telling the truth about his incompetency, then I'll believe it.
And also, we need to see how this holds up over time. YES, I've counted some surprising turnaround talk from the likes of Jack Cafferty, Anderson Cooper, Aaron Brown, and even, believe it or not, Wolf Blitzer. But that's this week. What happens next week and the week after that, when the dust has settled and we're back to believing the pr baloney about how wonderful John Roberts is and how the insurgency really is in its last throes and the rest of it.
I'm hopeful, but not sold yet. And YES, I DO miss the days of Ted Turner's leadership. VERY VERY much. He was so pro-choice and extremely pro-environment. Liberals and liberalism got a fair shake.
