Anyone remember the SNL skit from 2000?
Kind of eerie, isn't it? The actor playing * had "won", and in what was meant as a wildly exaggerated spoof, he had screwed up the country.

One of the lines was something along the lines of "I broke Hoover Damn." Well, he's BROKEN THE WHOLE &%##@@*** country!!!!!

Some of us knew that skit wasn't a parody. And now, four years later, we find that this exaggerated spoof didn't even begin to predict the damage this chimp could do.

My heart bleeds for the people in NO and Mississippi, but if we forget for ONE SECOND whose responsibility this is, we are doing them no favors.:argh:

1. It was a great skit
Predicted that * would be a total incompetent screw up, but of course even the writers couldn't have imagined this.

2. I've often thought of that skit. Even though it was funny, it was also
scary.

Will Ferrell hid behind the desk in the WH, peeked out to see if it was safe and then began a litany of screw ups that he caused.

At the time, it rang true for me...now it seems prescient. MKJ

3. That's exactly how I felt
And I've thought of it many times these past five years. I think most thinking people knew, even back then, that chimp was a walking disaster waiting to happen.
