CNN enhances Ray Nagin image
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 05:14 AM by nod4rod
with photo which includes the Stars 'n Stripes.

They had been making him look like an "ABM - Angry Black Man"

Now, they have a flattering pic including the American flag.

Response to polls?

1. I was pissed tonight watching TV
I can't remember what channel (it was either MSNBC or ABC), when they mentioned the mayor was "angry" and then played only the end of his interview where he says something to the effect of "this is the worst disaster in the history of the country". It made him look like an "ABM" and not the intelligent man who spoke on the many shortcomings of the current response to Katrina.

I really didn't see this becoming a political issue, and politics seem unimportant right now, but it's clear the Big Media Companies will attempt to disparage just about anyone and/or spin any situation in order to keep a Big Business Republican in office.

2. He's a good man, and therefore dangerous. The MSM
has to cut him off at the knee for their Republican masters.

5. One of those networks also said he 'ranted' ...
... during a call-in and then played the audio with numerable bleeps ... made him sound like a raging nutcase.

Gee, wouldn't you be RANTING too, if you had to sit helplessly and watch your entire CITY die in front of your eyes ?

3. That doesn't bother me so much.
His words were played and repeated on radio and TV. I think his words expressed the horror at the slow response many of use are feeling across the country. Perhaps they did this to underscore his position of authority which, if it does impart credibility, is fine with me. His words are more important, and they definitely got a lot of play today.

4. Malloy replayed his speech, cussing and all.......
To the Whore TV media,if you want to try and paint this guy as a crazed, uppity black guy then give it a shot--it'll backfire on your ass so badly you'll wish you never tried.

He asked simple questions, was at wits end and was PISSED. If I were in his shoes I would have said the same things about Bush and the Federal Government, only worse.

6. Yes...most Americans speak like this
anbd it just comes off sounding like exasperated common sense in the midst of the Bush waffling. Compare Nagin's "rant" to Brown's blithering idiocies and see which Americans prefer...

7. The sobbing at the end has got to soften even the flintiest of
Conservative Republican souls. Well, maybe not. But I was sobbing also.

8.  The Mayor came off great as only person who cared-& feds not responding
The politicians prolly want to 86 him and will try to blame it on him, but guess what - the millions of people who heard him on CNN and everywhere else know the feds f'd him.

He sure as hell came off better than Blanco and Landrieux.

He should go for HOuse of Reps or Senator.

9. I was worried about Nagin when he got in the copter with smirk

can you imagine being in a small copter with smirk after you had dissed him.

I was picturing them torturing Nagin.
