my wife's amazing conversation with a repug fundraiser |
|
My wife got a call yesterday from a republican fundraiser. She politely informed the caller that she was a Democrat. The fundraiser (a woman) then said, "Well, it must be your husband who is a republican." My wife responded, "No, he's a Democrat. I'm the one that was a republican, but this administration has made me a Democrat."
There was a pause. And then the woman on the other end of the call gave a bit of an embarassed laugh and said "Yeah, I know what you mean. Bush has really screwed things up hasn't he."
I love it!

Even his own are turning against him in droves.
It's a shame and a tragedy that the awakening had to occur at the loss of one of our most beautiful and historical cities.
Good for your wife!

2. Conversation with Republican precinct chairman: |
|
You and I probably have more in common than you might think. I am really disgusted with Bush and have been for a while.
Interestingly, he proceeded to tell me that the most important problem we face in America is that corporations have too much influence...that what upset him the most about the Republicans in Washington (and our governor too) about was that they were too controlled by corporations.
I told him that what upset me the most about the Democrats in Washington, many of them, was that they were too controlled by corporations. So we do have something in common.
He was really very angry over handling of the hurricane and knew that tons of MREs and water could have been dropped in the first 24 hours.

They will allow Bushco to do and get away with anything because hating "Libruls" is their main concern.

4. It Isn't Just Bush; It is All of Them |
|
Well, I hope these people eventually realize that it isn't Bush alone, or Cheney alone, or DeLay alone, that is the fuck-up, but corporate neo-con Republicanism itself that inevitably leads to this planned horror. It is the only final logical consequence of their thought--a total breakdown of civilization as the remnants of "government" now no longer respond to the peons and their whines, but now only exists to transfer money from poor and middle class taxpayers, to rich corporations. What else would eventually happen?
