The current situation in NO reminds me of apartheid
I have to rant!

Thousands of people, mostly black and the very poor, locked up in a convention center. The reason they aren't letting them go anyplace is because nobody wants them in their city or town. I am so ashamed of this country...

What sickens me most is pResident Fuckhead saying that the private sector (i.e. citizens) needs to do our share by sending money to "charities" like Pat Robertson's "operation Blessing."

Somebody needs to clue him in that we pay taxes so that the federal government has the money to handle emergency situations like this. The federal government is the only one with the equipment and manpower that can handle jobs like this. Within the first 24 hours of Katrina water, food, and medical supplies could have been dropped in. The city could have been pretty much evacuated in 72 hours. Instead needed equipment is tied up in Iraq.

George "the Butcher" Bush could have funded the Army Corps of Engineers project to rebuild Louisana's coastline, instead of slashing the budget for it.

The blood of the dead are very much on this president's incompetent hands.
