1. They won't be courting black and urban voters anytime soon
so much for that idea they had after '04.

But they'll most likely follow Bush until ruin (his or ours? is the question).

Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 05:08 PM by liberalitch
said that WE were hard to take sober.

Being a 16 year old goth I had to ask: "us sober or you sober?"

His answer was "either"

God I miss him

So I suppose..... either

14. They don't need black or urban voters
With New Orleans destroyed, they are probably hoping that Louisiana will become a red state like Alabama and Mississippi. They will pick up a senator, couple of reps, a governorship, have a lock on the state for the next presidential election. The poor and black will be dispersed throughout the country, with many in Texas, where they can be redistricted away to oblivion.

2. Unfortunately...none.
Karl Rove has absolute, iron fisted control of the Republican Party. Or I should say, the religious right and neo-cons have control of the Party. Rove is there to make them happy. Hurricane Katrina will have no effect on that.

7. more like corporatists/globalists than fundies
The fundies are just getting played like violins (and they invite such). Witness all the frauds perpetrated by televangelists and they still buy into such. Rove isn't that important a player. The big ones are all behind the scenes, e.g. Richard Mellon Scaife and others I can't even name because I've only seen them dredged up in obscure webpages on rare occasions.

3. If Diebold/ES&S/Sequoia and opti-scan machines don't fix it. martial law
They've got a real existential threat on their hands. They're never going to let go now unless removed by force. The only ones who can do it are the military. No-win situation.

4. I don't think Joe voter is gonna connect the dots
(News Anchor) sure isn't gonna do it for them.

And they still control the machines.

And the puke base will still be out in force because BOB AND BILL WANT TO GET MARRIED!!

It will get worse before it gets better.

12. Gee I was hoping that the inability of the GOP to react in the...
midst of a disaster might piss them off more than say.... two guys picking out china patterns.

I guess no one wants that gravy boat to be on back order now do they?

5. The creation of many new and unique dance steps...
as they try to distance themselves from the stench of bushco while asserting that they are STILL opposed to the groups that he demonises (liberals, unions, minorities, women's reproductive rights, etc...) and support those that he favors (the uberrich, tax cuts, fundies, etc...)

I hope that they break their goddamn legs

8. The saddest part...
is that any real effort to chip away at this administration will be met with an FBI or CIA agent pounding on your dissenting door. Remember Posse Comitatus....It's here ! Musselini would be so proud!

15. I didn't vote with my heart :(
The Bush apologists are already taking over the airwaves and unless Dems with balls start speaking up NOW, we can kiss '06 goodbye :(

It's been a long week, just my opinion, I hope I'm wrong, but not about the Dems speaking up :banghead:

16. Never a better time to get active
The R's are tres' vulnerable. If we were smart we'd all get involved and get busy local party building for a big sweep next year.
