JAPAN DONATES $200,000 to relief efforts...
Are they trying to send Bush a message????? I don't have the list of donations from other countries....but it looks pretty chinzy....

It seems the world really wants to rub Bush's nose in it, and unfortunately, I can't blame them. However, it was disturbing today to see our fellow Brits saying we are not such a SUPER POWER and our government was quick to go to Iraq but not to save our own people.

The fact that we look soooo weak really scares me. Get ready for another disaster....every day you think things can't get any worse...and something else happens.

I'm starting to freak about the euro and devaluation of the dollar. All we need now is the GREAT DEPRESSION #2.

Please someone find something positive I can think about. I'm ready for a meltdown........

6. Is that sarcasm?
If I were to list the charities and good works my husband and I do, you would think I am a bragger.

I have no doubt the people of America are very generous. But many people in our country are barely making it. People here give what they can.

My post is about world governments and their chinzy support for America.

10. Update on Japan relief effort;
they have also donated $300,000 in supplies.

It's still chinzy!

Also, on tonights news they showed country's donations under there flags and not their names.

Who the fuck remembers every world flag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damm it, that was soooo deliberate....they don't want America to know that the f....king world HATES BUSH!!!

20. what has that got to do with anything ?
we are talking about the nations as a whole. the United States deserved criticism during the Tsunami and if this is true about Japan they deserve criticism also. and it's not an attack on the inidividual people but rather those at the top in govt.

7. $200,000????
John Grisham has donated 5 million!

Celine Dion has donated 1 million (and she's not even American!)

And, Japan has donated $200,000?

That's not a donation, that's a message... an insult.

This is what the Bush foreign Policy Doctrine hath wrought....

9. i dont know about that
i heard awhile ago that during some crisis or catastrophe Japan donated very little money and it was mocked as "scrooge" or something by the intl. community. i dont remember for what but i dont know the country has had prior records of being stingy in foreign aid.

11. Listen, you need to understand something about international donations
This is a great article explaining how different nations funded the tsunami relief and why the numbers worked out the way they did: http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/1231-01.htm

12. Well that article was soooo long, but it just
confirmed what I said, that Bush was chinzy on the Tsunami relief so it's payback time for him.

That article was nothing new....

13. Actually my pointy was about Japan's donations looking small... the
section on the other nations that donated to the tsunami relief in terms of government vs private assistance.

Ah well.. Never mind. Not important now.

16. Just like US...
Japan can claim it's "just the beginning" or something similar if other countries shame them into it, just like when WE pledged so little money to the Tsunami victims and then Bush changed his tune and increased it dramatically.

in addition to $200,000 cash, Japan is offering $300,000 in supplies.....still seems paltry to me...
