CNN poll: Do failures in response to Hurricane Katrina raise questions... |
|
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 09:09 PM by Clarkie1
about how officials might handle a major terrorist attack?"
www.cnn.com
The poll is on the lower left...scroll down.
So far the response is overwhelmingly YES.
People have lost faith in the ability of government and politicians to respond effectively to future disasters. Neither party at this time has credibility, although the Republicans have less since they are the ones in charge.
If we can become a "full-service" party with credibility in national security (in the broadest meaning of the term) we will serve America well. We need to be thinking in these terms not just because it's what we need to do to win in 06', 08', and beyond, but because America needs the Democratic Party to rise to the occasion NOW.

They KNEW this disaster was coming! Days in advance. Will Usama send an email in advance? After witnessing this event, we are truly on our own. Everyone should make preparations for the worst.

12. Our Emergency Response was in place on 9/11; FEMA was... |
|
running an exercise in New York on the morning of 9/11. It was a mass casualty exercise along with the other Vigilant Gaurdian exercises being conducted by the Air Force.
The reason we were able to quickly respond in New York was because we "coincidentally" had a large rescue force in place before the planes struck. This is a major reason many people believe the 9/11 attacks were either allowed to happen or were perpetrated by our government.

Hello! Anyone out there? When voters are convinced that the Democrats offer a true alternative undiluted by cagey qualifications and contradictions--in other words, that the Democrats have a voice and a vision--they will be back in power.

10. Actually no it doesn't raise questions.... |
|
I know exactly how it would be handled by watching the New Orleans fiasco. The government would sit on it's hands as long as possible then inadequately respond, then when criticized about it they would say..."we could never have imagined (fill in the blank)".

18. Incredibly stupid question. |
|
Especially when you consider how 9/11 was fumbled (assuming for the sake of charity that it was not LIHOP/MIHOP). These guys have never given the slightest indication of being able to do a good job of wiping their own asses, let alone anything more complicated. They make me think of the French aristocracy in the time of Louis XVI. Utterly insulated from reality by a bevy of sycophants, and totally without clue.
