Today on CBS Nightly News it was reported that as a result of Hurricane Katrina the unemployment rate in Mississippi could rise to 25%. It seems that that will cause great problems for the economy.

These people don't have savings to live on.

5. I hope your Post is sarcasm |

Otherwise, You probably should do a bit more research before you Post.
Unemployment is NOT Low Nationwide, and don't bother quoting Statistics from the BLS, because there are plenty here on this Forum that can show you in great detail how those numbers are Bogus and absolute BS.
I'd love to hear your detailed theory on how you think this will be so easily "absorbed."
A "Natural Cycle?"
A "NATURAL CYCLE?"
Explain to me how the loss of a Major Metropolitan City, not to mention the FOURTH BUSIEST PORT IN THE WORLD is part of a normal, "NATURAL CYCLE."
Like I said, if it was sarcasm, forgive the post.
If it wasn't you've got some 'splainin to do.

Having lots of unemployed people desperate for any job they can find, tends to depress the wages {further} in an already horrific job market, which is exactly one of the things that gives nazis a woody.
