7. You're probably right..
I heard a while back (after O'Conner resigned) that the position of "Chief Justice" doesn't really hold any additional water as far as decisions by the justices go.. but that they have added duties of swearing in new Presidents, etc.?

Is that true?

8. Yes, Scalia as Chief
and then another as Associate. This gives * three shots to shape the court instead of two. It's a very good strategy for the Repugs.

The Dems had better start getting tough now. We need a *leader*.
Who will step into the leadership vacuum in this country? Neither the Repugs nor the Dems have anybody right now.

With all of the Katrina mess now dems need to get on top of this. The republicans are ready to cram a rightwing agenda while Americans are in shock and grieving.
