Putting on the tinfoil hat with regard to the recent GOP actions... |
|
With the severely vitrial attitudes of most of the GOP members in the House and Senate and with some of the most crippling legislation ever to come out of Congress, I've begun to wonder what sane politician would DO that?
The conclusion I came up with is simple. They could give a rat's ass what anyone thinks because they know they've got re-election wrapped up.

1. Their disregard of public opinion seems to confirm no worry about voters |

2. I just put my tinfoil hat on, too. |

Here's how they're going to do it. They will fake a terrorist threat against Bush and Congress. It will cripple him, but nothing serious, though. It puts him in a wheelchair and FOX spins it as heroic. Then, he is declared not-able-to-work by the Cabinet and the GOP all agrees. Next, Cheney becomes President. Heroic Bush follows him around all the time in his wheelchair while Cheney is campaigning, inspiring people. Meanwhile, the war on terruh must continue. The Democrats cannot say no, because then they look unpatriotic. Plus, some moderates continue to favor the war on terruh as it seems like a practical matter of survival. Enough to get polling up? Yes. Enough, to win in 2006. Maybe. If not, then add anthrax attacks into the mess right before the elections.

3. The draft, attack on Iran, etc |
|
So many people say not to worry about a military draft, escalation of the "war on terror", etc... since any politician's vote in favor of such things is supposedly "political suicide." But when these guys own the media and the voting booth, the coup is complete. No worries about reelection ever again.

Am I the only one who thinks the timing of Rehnquist's death is just a little bit convenient, if you catch my drift?

6. Actually, I think Katrina made him realize he was headed for hell |
|
because of all of the evil things he has done for the GOP to disenfranchise and destroy African-Americans and his heart couldn't take it. He might have been watching Celine Dion.

7. I just told my husband this same thing... |

that they do these outrageous things because they're not worried about what voters think anymore.
The disgraced former dictator of Yugoslavia thought the same thing once. It only works for so long.
