Rehnquist is dead and I don't give a fuck right now ....
That battle is for another day.

Tonight I see this news as a simple distraction. Political folderol. Momentarily unimportant.

Right now we have our brothers and sisters soaking in the slimewaters that were once a great city, clawing for their very lives. We have children still dying. We have families separated.

And we have a gang of thieves, thugs, and heartless motherfuckers in charge of things.

I have a great deal of capacity to think and consider and do.

But the events ongoing in the Gulf Coast region are taking a toll larger than any I can recall. On our own soil. Victims of our own government.

Rehnquist has died.

I'll care about that later. I know I'll rant and rage at what they do about it. How they take advantage of it to put another nail in the Great Experiment that is the United States' democracy.

But right now ..... I just don't have any excess capacity to care.

Right now ....... I don't give a fuck.

1. Doesn't make a difference for me either
He was a rw loonatic. I have no time to give him any sympathy. He died relatively old, rich, and comfortable in his home.

He didn't starve to death.

2. Yes, our hearts go out to the Mississippi Delta
Bush's politics just keeps on going. Half mast for Rehnquest, but no honor to the dead in the Mississippi Delta.

3. Rehnquist used to intimidate poor black voters into not to voting.
It will go down as his legacy.

4. I understand why you feel this way
but keep in mind that this gives W the opportunity to appoint yet another conservative who will set this country back a hundred years or so.

5. yup- that`s another battle down the road
the whole world has seen what bush`s freedom does to his own people. in 5 short years we have gone from the most admired county in the world to the most pitied. we have three more years of an economic stagnation, class and political civil war, and man and natural disasters.is it any wonder why they pity us?
the supreme court is yet another fight but right now we have to save ourselves and our fellow citizens from this madness
