3. If its the clip I'm thinking about, its old news. I think they've let
people out. Yet I don't know, its so hard to tell what's going on with this damn thing. I feel like I'm living in china this past week, so clouded is the media.

5. This is the one total kicker (unless those "girls" were total "ringers")
The girls he "comforted" in their search for clothes in MS.

If Geraldo was right, and he certainly was adamant, that they could just walk across the bridge to Gretna which, he said had power, then

THIS IS THE MOST HORRIFYING POST STORM EVENT.

I'd like to know who manned the briidge and who gave the order to keep the people from marching over to Gretna?

Anybody know.

Horror Show

Shepard Smith and Geraldo Rivera were livid about the situation in NOLA as they appeared on H&C. When Hannity tried his usual spin job and said "let's get this in perspective," Smith chopped him off at the knees and started yelling at him saying, "This is perspective!" It was shocking.

Video-WMP-very big file so I had to compress i>

Video QT

Geraldo who I'm no fan of was crying, holding a little child up to demonstrate the extremely inhumane conditions these people are forced to live under. Forced is the right word because they are locked in the dome by our government and can't leave. Troops are guarding the bridge.

This goes beyond political lines and it's as sad a situation as I've seen. Let's see all the happy politicians slap themselves on their backs after viewing this segment.

Digby has more: This was some amazing TV. Kudos to Shep Smith and Geraldo for not letting O'Reilly and Hannity spin their GOP "resolve" apologia bullshit. I'm fairly shocked....read on

Talk Left: I've never seen anything as harrowing as Fox News' Geraldo Rivera and Shepard Smith on Hannity and Colmes. While Aaron Brown on CNN said we have "turned the corner" on CNN, it's clearly not the truth....

7. More:
Geraldo Rivera and Shepard Smith are reporting that the authorities have just locked everyone in the convention center with no escape, and a checkpoint is stopping people from leaving New Orleans. They set up a check point at the bottom of the bridge out of New Orleans, it's the only way out, per Shep Smith, and if you go the checkpoint they turn you around and send you back to New Orleans. Jesus.

Geraldo started crying in the convention center on camera. Shep Smith is going nuts. And then Hannity tries to defend Bush and the government and Shep and Geraldo will have nothing of it. My God, every FOX News viewer just watched this this evening. FOX's own anchors saying the entire federal relief effort is a fiasco. Geraldo is holding a ten month old baby in his arms, who's also trapped in the convention center, he then started chanting "let them go, let them out of here."

OMG. This is an absolute disaster.

Bush needs to finally start acting like the president and accept that the buck stops at his desk. It's time for Bush to step aside and let someone competent handle this crisis before anyone else dies.

10. contradictory news
I heard it, too. Just a few minutes ago. My first complete evacuation news came from german "Spiegel", a less trustworthy medium nowatdays, while all the news came via news agencies without reporters on-site.
