since we are now more vulnerable than ever?

1. Good point
London was attacked when a lot of British security forces were up in Scotland for the G8 summit.

However, I think al-Qaeda is more likely just to let this homegrown disaster play itself out, anything they did would seem like a damp squib compared to this.

Although you didn't actually think the "terror alert level" ever had anything to do with our actual vulnerability to terror attacks, did you?
