5. It's not just stupidity. It's racism. It would be different if
the majority of victims were white. Sad but alas true.

3. aournd here (Arkansas)
I did an informal survey. Bush's approval ratings were less than 1%, and there was a fight over whether we should impeach Bush or tar and feather him, with the latter winning out at about 65%.

7. The guy who filled in for Bernie Ward on KGO this morning said it too.
I don't know who this dickwad was...he had a thick British accent and the same bitchy / catty delivery as movie critic Rex Reed.

"People are acting like President Bush CAUSED the hurricane...DON'T be RIDICULOUS"...

...Bernie needs to to a little better job of screening his guest hosts.

6. His ratings could hit the low teens & people would STILL vote for him if
he promised them a $50 tax break.

12. I haven't heard any statements
from Brad Henry the democratic governor of JOklahoma. But it was apparent in listening to Tulsa Mayor Bill Lafortune that he did not want any hurricane evacuees in his backyard.

13. I do think they'll drop, and my guess is 40%,, maybe 39%
I think it depends on when they do the polls. This is a holiday weekend, and I don't even know if they do any, or if we;ll have to wait until next week.

Shrub will always have SOME staunch supporters who won't budge no matter what, but I have heard quite a few Pubs change their tune in the last week or two.

14. About 37% of Americans are True Believers...
So I doubt his poll numbers will EVER go below 37%, or so.

Why? Because when you believe something is true, with no proof, i.e., based on FAITH (which is belief in the absence of proof), then you'll be incredibly resistant to change in the face of FACTS.

So the True Believer base, who supports this fascist with religious fervor, who actually thinks the fuckhead was sent by God to protect America, will go to their graves defending him.

On the other hand, it's great to know that nearly every person in America who ISN'T a complete psycho disapproves of him!

That should make you happy.

18. CBS said 41% Friday
"...A new CBS poll has Bush's approval rating down to 41 per cent - its lowest level ever. This rating will not be helped by the New Orleans disaster, for which Bush's Administration has been bitterly criticised for the slowness of the response..."

"...The Bush administration's slow response has been criticized and Bush's approval rating has dropped to 41 percent, matching the lowest ever recorded, according to a poll today by CBS News..."
