Dem Politicos Need To Take Their Fair Share of Blame for Katrina |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 12:35 PM by stopbush
It goes something like this:
We're sorry that we didn't have the guts to challenge bush right after 9/11.
We're sorry that we bought into his transparent lies that led us into Iraq.
We're sorry that we've spent no time or money coming up with an effective mechanism to combat the RW noise machine.
We're sorry that we deserted our base and adopted a republican-lite strategy to lose elections.
We're sorry that we didn't spend our little remaining political capital to call out bushco on their lies and their gross negligence in protecting New Orleans.
We're sorry that many of us were just as absent in the first three days as was bush.
We're sorry that we're three steps behind the Dem faithful and the blogosphere when it comes to most issues.
There's more, but if the Ds took blame for their failure to be an actual opposition party they might make some headway with Joe Six-Pak.

1. BALONEY! Bush has control of the Whitehouse, Senate and Congress |
|
The ONLY people on the ground during this fiasco were DEMOCRATS asking the federal government to get off its ass and send in support. The ONLY people who got their hands dirty were Democrats and I guarantee you Haley Barbour may lick Bush's boots but when push comes to shove, Trent Lott loves his home state and Lott will be right there with the Dems criticizing this response as soon as the storm passes over.

2. Respectfully, I disagree. |

You don't hear the repukes apologizing when they make mistakes, even colossal ones. They band together and pass the buck. And "Joe Six Pack" laps it up. No way I can endorse the strategy you recommend. This is not the time to eat our own. Bush is guilty of criminal negligence in his handling of our national security (pre-9/11), Afghanistan, Iraq, and now NO. Let's place the blame where it rightly belongs.

I'm in the streets a lot. "It" ISN'T sitting there just waitiang for the Dem's taking upon the implosion of Bush's pyramid schemes.
They're going to have to work HARD for it. There are more people wondering why there isn't a real choice.
