Chertof: We can't stop to THINK about how we're doing this!
He obviously studied at the feet of this master of disaster planning:

1. He said on MTP he gets his information from Newspaper headlines.
I'm not kidding. He actually said he thought everything was OK in NO after the storm because the Newspapers said so.

11. I heard that; my immediate thought was "if al-Qaeda had struck instead
of Katrina, would we be any safer?"

And the sickening thing about it is, either answer, yes or no--is NOT reassuring at all.

3. Sounds like the same strategy they have for Iraq
We can't plan beforehand or stop to think in the process.

4. So they admit to not "thinking". What do you think hiring Witt was all
about? It is about expertise & competence.

The Bushites just keep on keeping on with the intentional incompetence.

5. Even worse, when Wolf Blitzer of all people asked him about Brown's lack
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 01:05 PM by AlGore-08.com
of experience - - that Brown ran an Arabian Horse Judging company before being the head of FEMA - - Chertof huffed that they had a lot of huricanes in 2004, so Brown had a real "baptism by fire".

When do we wake up and find Bobby Ewing taking a shower?

10. Which makes his incompetence now all the worse and without excuse.
As I recall 2004 was an election year and the hurricanes hit Florida where ol Jeb is gov. Think that made any difference in response?

9. Where and when did he say this?
And can we get him to repeat it under oath? Like, at an impeachment hearing in the Senate?

13. Yup which is why they have disaster planning and mitigation...oops they
cut funding for that.

And guess they didn't learn anything from FEMA's 2004 Hurricane Pam scenario exercise. The one where a hurricane hits NOLA? Flooding, destruction and survivors who need attending and relief? Funny, FEMA still has info about it on their website. Wonder how long it will take them to "disappear" it from their site so they can continue to sing the "no one could have imagined" duet with Condi.
