Did we just witness genocide by complacence?
What is that feeling in my gut? What is that sick feeling, as if Bush personally kicked me in the stomach?

Why do I keep thinking of Milosevic? Hussein?

Was this genocide by complacence?

3. genocide?
By what standards are you calling it genocide?

Yes, Bushco has been waging class warfare against the American people for years..

.. and there's a strong racial component to that warfare.

An ultimate result is what happened in NOLA. But I wouldn't call it genocide.

It's bad enough, though.. deserving of huge mass action such as demonstrations, protests, riots, lawsuits, and arrests of leaders, including Bush.

4. Depraved indifference to human lives - is the technical term here.

5. If you have the power to save a life and don't isn't it still murder?
I believe individuals who stood by and did nothing should be charged in a US court of law with murder. Drunk drivers often go to jail for hurting others. Every life lost was important and justice should be served on behalf of each. With immense power comes immense responsibility. Those who had the power did not the save the lives they were sworn to protect.

"We hold these truths to be self evident- inalienable rights: right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Number one is life. Defending America means defending the lives of its citizens./

The president and his administration has utterly failed. As another poster said, not only have they failed through incompetence, they have failed in having any humanity or compassion for fellow humans.

Those who died deserve justice, and I think murder should be the charge against them all.

6. Is this why Chimpy said he's "satisfied with the results"?
Because he really IS pleased with the "results"? I hope to hell not - but actions speak, ya know...

7. He is as incompetent as president
as he has been all his life. He is a failure and a finer example of the peter principal as ever there could be. He needs to get the hell out of office and the republicans have to do a Nixon Scene with him and tell him to leave before this country discentgrates before our eyes. Osama is just so plesed. He thought that homeland security could prevent a terrorist attack.
