Well, Mr. Mehlman hasn't wasted any time lying to the ignorant:
<snip>
In a time like this when so many Americans are struggling to recover from a tragic natural disaster, it’s important we band together and focus on supporting what’s ahead - a difficult recovery process. However, unfortunately, some are tending towards blame and anger. Captain’s Quarters highlights the joint CNN interview with former Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton yesterday where both men went out of their way to remind Americans to think before they blame and criticize. These certainly are two Americans who know what it’s like to lead our nation when citizens are suffering from such storms.

"citizens are suffering from such storms?"

Do GOP pundits have to take English 101? I can't believe that half the nation can be so inspired by such drab and unstructured writing!

3. I wrote this back. Wonder if it will make a difference!
This is not merely a matter of "blame" or "criticize" and I am confident that you know that.

I rarely reply to messages I read on Republican blogs with the exception of those written by Mr. Mehlman, who I particularly despise. However, when I feel that a person is deliberately attempting to dilute the institutional failure of the President and his cabinet to perform his primary duties, I must not sit silently.

I have written to each of my representatives requesting that the President immediately step down and suffer the consequences for his criminal negligence. I have also expressed my outrage with my own party for their lack of demanding accountability. Believe me madam, I am one of millions of people from your own party as well.

To ask a devastated nation to "calm down" when the incompetence, arrogance, and down right negligence is blindingly transparent is nothing short of treasonous. Our nation, the one in which we both share in spite of our respected beliefs, is entitled to hold those responsible for this failure accountable. As the message of your party has been "now is not the time," I say plainly, now is the time; now and tomorrow and the next day.

And so, I ask that you please retract your statement for the good of the citizens who have lost their voices permanently as a result of your President.

Regards,

AGG

6. "Lets not start pointing fingers"
"It doesn't matter who's to blame"
"This isn't the time for critisizm"
"Lets all work together to put this behind us"

After all, these aren't the carefree Clinton years.

7. Republicans don't care about Senior Citizens
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 10:09 PM by C_U_L8R
Or the Poor or Black People or anyone
who doesn't fit into their little country club.

There should be no question about it now,
the right wing is a hate group.

And given opportunity or the choice,
they WILL leave our Seniors, our Poor
and every Minority out to die.

That's now a fact.
