Reporters who have been in LA are reporting differently than ones
just anchoring from NY or elsewhere.

Harry Reed on CBS - very overcome, said, it is worse than it looks. Meanwhile Hannah Storm, very impatient with poor woman telling her story.

Great piece by Soledad O'Brien in LA with man who led triage of people coming out of the SuperDome - said his people were ready to help, told that a third of the people coming out of the SuperDome would likely perish under his care, and then he did not have adequate supplies to care for them. No one died, but supplies did not arrive until they were finished. Had 13 infants at one point, thought some of them would die.

1. The ones who were on the scene have been very critical of the
Fed response all along. I think that's the big difference between the reporters we mostly respected for the last 25 years. Those guys were always "ON THE SCENE" not just reading something from a teleprompter!

2. I hardly ever watch CBS, but I first noticed Hannah Storm
when she was so rude to Michael Moore. You can ask tough questions and disagree without being rude, or at least some people can, but she doesn't seem to able to do so. I've been doing more channel surfing through the Katrina coverage and I was surprised that she seems very rude in these interviews, too. If that is how she always is, they should have fired her a long time ago.

3. I'm hoping there'll be enough material for an "Outfoxed II"
between geraldo and shepard smith and all the camermen on the ground, there must be info about how they were told to stop reporting bad news and to start reporting good news only and to smile more..

someone from fox will talk...
