"Massive Day of Resistance" 11/02/05
I live in NYC and on Sat. night I passed by a gathering in Union Square. I stood and listened for a while to the socialists rip bush a new one, and eventually took a flyer promoting a day of resistance scheduled for 11/2. They are trying to get together a Poland Solidarity-type nation-wide walk out, which, I think is a great idea. I don't know how to post a link, but their website is:

www.worldcantwait.org

I'm surprised I haven't seen anything on DU about this, unless, of course their group's definition of "massive" is something less.

On a side note, while I agreed with EVERYTHING the speakers said, I wish that socialists would leave all anti-religion sentiment behind -- and this is coming from an atheist -- and that the individuals that such groups put out in public to spread the word came across as a little less "crazy". I know that's rather judgemental of me but there it is.

1. Maybe the right idea, but the wrong group behind it?

I have no objection to joining numbers to say the same thing, however.

We NEED a MASSIVE day of resistance. Bush just goes his merry way and does whatever he wants regardless of who it hurts. We need massive public protests so the world can see that WE do NOT support HIM!!

I love my country, but what I'm seeing right now does not reflect the fundamental principles of the Constitution I love. I don't know what this government is, but it's NOT American.

Edit for spelling.

3. Well, they were also selling Socialist newspapers and
were talking about the virtues of socialism. So I assumed...

Perhaps this group is not the lead organizer of the protest, but is helping to promote it??

They held an organization meeting the next day (Sunday AM) but, unfortunately, I couldn't make it. Sorry I don't know more.

4. I don't care if they are in league with the great satan.
If they are against the Cabal and have a positive suggestion about how to ACT to bring the Cabal down, then I am with them.

5. Agreed
And personally, I identify more with a socialist agenda than a capitalist one.
