Criteria for Impeachment?
What is it, exactly? Surely there is enough fodder now!

Does anyone know about this or know where to find it?

1. High crimes and misdemeanors...
Look in the U.S. Constitution, Article Eight if I'm not mistaken, which I very well may be.

2. Add to that
Enough legislators to initiate impeachment.

Even if all the Dems come out in support of censure or impeachment, I doubt if ANY Republicans will break rank.

Hopefully after mid-term, if there's a country left.
Expect the 'Pubs to fight tooth and nail in '06, if for that reason only.

3. They're going to update the Constitution to say
"Example: See George W. Bush"

He's the poster boy for impeachment. There are at least a dozen good reasons, all of which stand on their own.

5. "...treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors..."

The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. - U.S. Constitution, Article 2, Section 4

The first two charges are clear; the last two are whatever the standing House of Representatives say they are, subject to the judgment of the Senate.

The Presiding Judge is the Chief Justice of the United States.

pulling first responders from rescue efforts to be stage dressing for his dog and pony shows is Abuse of Power.

10. Whatever the House of Reps says it is. Therein lies the problem.
The only way Tom Delay signs on is if he has to to save HIS ass. Hmmm. But remember, if Chim goes, for whatever reason, we are stuck with Chaney. If Chaney goes also, then it's Denny "Fuck New Orleans" Hastert.

11. There is really only one critera: Control of Congress.
Specifically, more than half of the house, and 2/3 of the Senate. Anything less than that is a futile circus.

Since we are in a minority, all these impeachment threads are fantasies.
