donate to the group that Jimmy Carter's always with - building low-income housing.

That way, we could get that group rebuilding New Orleans . . . and it would really piss off the righties because it was a "liberal cause", and it could be using the very people who would be living in the homes, too.

remember the Red Cross doesn't take blood from just anybody. I myself lived in the UK during the mad cow disease outbreak, so I am barred from donating.

I have some fabulous O neg blood that no one will ever get because of the backwater policies of the American Red Cross; my boyfriend is bisexual. (So am I, but the Red Cross isn't worried about m/f sex or f/f sex. Apparently all straight people and lesbians are automatically HIV free. :eyes:)

But I believe the OP was referring to cash donations to the Red Cross, which many here are also leery of with this organization. I gave to the Lousiana Disaster Recovery Foundation and the United Animal Nations.

I feel like I can trust Pres. Carter will do with my money what I want it to do, and that's to rebuild New Orleans and the other areas. He's a true humanitarian and an honest man. I have given to the Red Cross (regret it now) and 3 "furry" friends groups, but now it goes to Habitat for Humanity.
