And now... a message from my fascist mother
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 11:28 AM by Writer
Yes, my mother is a fascist. I mean that literally. Confronted, of course, she'd never admit it, but she believes in heavy militancy, keeping out the Mexicans who "have too many kids," and voted for Bush in 2004 because he has done a good job dealing with "those violent Islamists."

Well... anyway... here's what she sent to me today. Now, mind you, she was born and raised in New Orleans. She lives elsewhere now, but it appears that Bush's negligence hit a little too close to home.

I believe that a great deal of the blame at this point can be given to George Bush and the congress for their failure to adequately fund the flood control in N.O. I could cut them slack if it was not stated in the fact section of this article that $100 million was sent to Iraq to fund the wetlands project to restore the two rivers mentioned in the facts section. I'm all for keeping the terrorist unsettled and fighting in the eastern countries (Hopefully staying away from our country with its walk across borders), but why do we have to send an oil rich country $100 million to restore it's landscape?

There is just too much back slapping, short sightedness and politics as usual. Now the cost to the U.S. government (citizens), affected states and local governments will make the few million diverted to Iraq look like a spit in the bucket.

1. I saw Satan practicing skating at The Polar Dome over the weekend.
And I wondered what was up!

4. Yyyeah. That's why I'm keeping quiet on my end.
My mom is the reason why I've written so much about NPD in here.

If I say that I agree with her, she'll find a way to change her tune just to get my goat.

And unfortunately, she still will vote for fascists, even if it's against her own best interest... just to get SOMEONE's goat.

3. Dude....
Your mom may be uniformed, misinformed and outright wrong... But, when you go bashing her in a public forum - you, are the one that is showing some seriously fucked up priorities....

6. You don't know my mother.
And why am I being singled out for something that many, many other posters have done in this forum?

8. No.... I don't know her -
Maybe she did drugs, beat you and otherwise neglected you.... I guess then I could see a son turning his back on his mom? If so, I apologize.

If she simply has a difference of opinion from you (oh horrors) then, in my opinion, to publicly bash her and call her names is just wildly fucked up!

But, you're right. A lot of people do it around here and it's none of my damn business. So, go ahead - knock yourself out....

7. No...truth is truth. And family is just another word for dysfunction IF
we can't truly admit what we see.

And truth begins at HOME...whether that 'home' be our country or just the address of our biological relatives.

5. Your mother sounds like mine
my mom and a friend, who has been a big shrub supporter, both told me this weekend that no way can they support him anymore.

The sad thing is that I told both my mom and friend last year when shrub was re-selected that: 1. you had better worry that there are now no checks and balances in the government with the repub president, senate and house. and 2. unfortunately, I will have to pay the consequences along with you for his actions, when I did not support him and have known what a monumental problem this admin would be.

Hold on, we have always known this pResident would bring down his own demise, but we are not through yet, hurricane Katrina was not the beginning and probable not the end of his incompetence.
