Random Thought:The President Who Replaces Roberts May Not Even be Born Yet |
|
Or is just an infant right now. Its a very real possibility.
Just a thought that occurred to me, I'm sure other people have thought the same thing.
Justice John Paul Stevens will be 86 soon, who is to say a seemingly healthy man like John Roberts won't be on the Court until he is 90, or older?
We could easily have a President in his forties during the 2040s.
It just got me thinking, John Roberts is the last Chief Justice that many people on this board, and in the country will ever know.
It makes one think about the consequences of presidential elections; about our future as a nation.

Roberts is 50. Assuming that the President who names is successor is born tomorrow, Roberts would be 92 years old before the President meets the minimum age requirement

Presidential age requirement is 35. I know, because I'll be running in 2016. I'll be 36 :-D

But my memory is faulty. I had it in my head that 42 was the minimum age for the presidency. I think that was JFK's age, and I had the two confused. You are correct, and that would make Roberts 85. Old, but not unheard of.

4. Would Roberts serving until 92 be that far-fetched? |
|
Like the other poster said, you're math seems a little off, but Stevens is 86, and shows no sign of backing down any time soon...(God willing)

6. I was thinking that he was being nominated for a seat on the Supreme |

Court - and very lucky at that life-time appointment. Didn't think he was going to be the head person. This guy's stock just keeps going up and up. What do we know about him and his rulings? Why aren't all of his records released immediately? I think we know more about his attorney wife's preferences, and not as much about him.
