1. Since DeLay is crooked as a snake, I wouldn't put it past him.
Perhaps attacking his own ethical problems could put pressure on him to leave the House investigation alone?

Anyway, if we can get enough votes, DeLay can't do anything. Although I know he'd want to try. It's spin and cover-up in action.

2. Is DeLay so stupid that he can't figure out how obvious that is?

You try to prevent an investigation of a fuck-up like this -- it totally reeks of cover-up. Does he really think no one will notice? Or does he know it, and is just counting on the congressional Democrats' usual dicklessness, knowing he'll get away with his crap yet again because the Dems don't have the stones to call him out?

3. Hopefully DeLay will be steamrolled by public pressure ...
... and shown to be the self-serving prick he is, once again.

6. I heard it too-- is he nuts? Does he think he can make it go away?
I know they are experts at burying their crimes and since they control the media (or most of it), there is a chance that they will find a way to sleaze their way out of this too. But, this story is not fading away and people are demanding answers and the reports from people who were there are growing and the anger and rage is still very much in play here. Hopefully that is what will stop that asshole dead in his tracks from trying to block any investigation. If not, then my guess is that it might finally be time to take to the streets and frankly-- I'm ready. September 24 is just around the corner.

9. Thank you Cheesus!
This is like manna from heaven. Delay, the corrupt little bastard from Sugarland, who wouldn't know an ethical move if it up and punched in the face, is going to block an investigation into the biggest catastrophe and government screwup in history.

Oh please, please, please let this happen Gawd. Please. I'll eat all my vegetables for a year and recycle even the old icky stuff. I promise.

This is great news. I want to see him go on the record as opposing this.

10. I caught the briefest glimpse of Delay on CSPAN
saying something like how proud he was of the excellent federal response to the disaster.

I just couldn't stand to watch any more.
