Don't want to get to the heart of the matter. Don't want to do something that might be effective and get media attention. Don't want to save the U.S. from 3 more years of a downward spiral.

1. The DNC Chair is waving a sword around.
Aside from Dr. Dean, is there anyone else out there? Or, are they waiting for the Republican leaders to do some quiet hatcheting?

2. Howard is out here all alone so far... not an elected Dem in sight...
and because of that, is being largely ignored.

3. It appears that...
...not only the "era of big government is over"...but presidential accountability as well.

The Buck doesn't stop anywhere.

Thanks to Reagan, Poppy and Clinton...

5. They said they were waiting until rescues, etc. -- well, it's too late!!!
They didn't want to be accused of politicizing. The press didn't wait; most made their outrage clear. But Dem pols waited. So the polls are coming in now, with only mild dissatisfaction from most about Bush's outrageous failure of governance in this national tragedy. Rove has had time to do his work. People will move on now, and the Bush cabal, once again, escapes responsibility and accountability.

11. They have to give Rove time to define the issues & arrange counter-hoaxes.
Very polite of them.

6. The behavior of the Democrats
is so bizarre. They don't go on the attack. President Clinton was always being vilified but the Democrats seems determined to say little about this president. That's why his numbers haven't fallen lower. Why weren't they out there criticizing almost immediately. They waited days to really say anything although many of those affected by this tragedy were their constituents. I am becoming more and more frustrated with the Democrats.

7. I was at "frustrated" a long time ago...
The Democrats had better ahow me something soon. It's almost make or break time for me. My heart cannot take the weakness, ineptitude, the unwillingness to engage the enemy... the lack of fire in this Party by ELECTED Democrats.

Who made the strongest statements last week at the height of the disaster? Clark spoke out on Bush's lack of leadership. Dean issued statement after statement calling out the administration. Gore finally had it up-to-here and just airlifted a bunch of the most ill out of NO on his own. And, John Edwards (never a favorite of mine) and his wife issued statements speaking to the racism and classism in the disaster.

Sean Penn took his own boats into NO, and started pulling people out of the water himself. John Travolta brought in tons of provisions on his own plane. Celine Dion pledged $1 million. John Grisham pledged $5 million. Oprah Pledged $2 million, and took her show into the mouth of the beast. Jesse Jackson took busloads of peopl eon busses he rented to shelters in other states. Kanye West spoke truth to power on live national television.

None of those people was ELECTED to any office. And yet, their courage and their compassion moved them to do SOMETHING, say SOMETHING, be THERE.

Where were the Democrats we actually ELECTED? I heard nary a peep. With the exception of Conyers , who has grown to hero-level with me, and Maxine Waters, who accompanied Jesse Jackson on his busses... NADA.

Is it time to demand more? I think so.

8. It is illegal to ask for the President's head on a platter.
And I imagine there are other ways to demand accountability or fix the problem.

9. I think Bush and his crew are doing enough damage to themselves
I'd save the attacks until time to run their asses out of office in 2006 and 2008.

I'd also be working hard on explaining to low income and black citizens all over our country why they should vote. The GOP wasn't too fired up about helping the survivors in NO and MS because they are poor and don't vote.
