It should not surprise anyone that people who ridicule |
|
government have little to no chance to make it function in a competent fashion. Of all of Little George's maddening traits, his lack of seriousness about his responsibilities is one of his most damning. It reveals itself in a number of frightening ways but a prime example is that he staffed the leadership of the department which is supposed to respond to disasters with people who have no practical experience in the field. Only a person who is, at base, frivolous and so contemptuous of government would appoint such nebishes while allowing the gutting of personnel that actually know how to respond. Katrina is, of course, only the latest example of what happens when government haters are in charge. A small additional indication was the story that an early 20's MBA was given the responsibility of setting up Iraq's financial regulatory system. Anyone who understood the gravity of the assignment would have looked to someone other than the bright, inexperienced offspring of some well heeled contributor. Democrats have got to make this story bigger than the insensitivity of Doofus and the incompetence of Brown. We have to help the nation understand why an effective government is vital to their lives and that it should not be entrusted to those who want to cripple it.

Anyone who understood the gravity of the situation would have looked to put #@&^ing *MACHIEVELLI* in charge, not some wet-behind-the-ears MBA, knowing the likelihood that everyone and their brother would try to game the system.

7. I think that's a good idea. I travel a lot but would try to |

schedule around a set time. There are still some of us that are in touch from the Clark campaign who are interested in building a liberal cadre here on the Suncoast.
