John Cornyn (R-TX) just said "Blame Game" TWICE in an interview.
With Ron Reagan, MSNBC Coast To Coast.

"Now is not time to play the Blame Game."

"There'll be plenty of time later on to play the Blame Game."

Good job, John. Sit! Roll over! Fetch! GOOD doggie!

:grr:

Au Contraire, Mr. Cornyn. What we have learned from the Bush administration is that IT IS ALWAYS TIME FOR THE BLAME GAME. EVERYTHING IS POLITICS.

5. Hillary had the perfect response: IT'S NOT A GAME! though, I'd
prefer..."It's not a game to the people of New Orleans" That will shut them up real quick.

blame game. repeat after me every chance you get. anytime anyone asks you a "sensitive" question (which is just about everything except your name), answer with an oh-so-clever retort containing the magic phrase "blame game." Thank you kkkarl, for our no-so-secret words of the day. Blame game.

22. Monica Crowley is off today, it's just Ron...he's going easy on everyone
I don't know...he might be exercising restraint due to the severity of the situation, but so far I haven't really seen him challenge anyone or anything.

That may be the appropriate thing to do, although I kind of prefer the way the White House Press Corps dealt with Scott McClellan yesterday.

It's early in the show. Ron may get fired up later...who knows.

23. When they use that talking point
agree with them ~ 'yes, now is not the time to play the blame game. Unfortunately, the time passed, when they lied about the war, torture, when the cut funding for life-saving programs, for Veterans etc. etc.

We may be late in starting the blame game, but better late than never. We are paying a heavy price in US lives for not 'playing' sooner, so you're right, and I know you'll agree that we need to get started placing the blame where it belongs right now. We don't ever again want to have to say 'now is not the time, the time was when a hurricane disaster took place and there was criminal negligence at the very top of our government, which cost the lives of thousands of our precious citizens.'

For them, we must do it now ~ or they will have died in vain, as our troops have, and the Iraqi people. Shame on us for not playing sooner. So let's start the blame game, and I know, Mr. (Bush Apologist) you'll agree ~ we simply cannot go on ignoring the fatal mistakes of this administration, you wouldn't want to be complicit in that'.

24. Letter to Cornyn and the newspaper too
Today, Sept. 6th, I just watched you on C-SPAN give a litany of charity and good will from the American people here in Texas. That's all well and good; I am glad to see it. However, in your spiel I got the impression that you missed the point. The problem is not with the "Good Will" of the American people. The problem is with BAD GOVERNMENT! You said, "now is not the time for the blame game" Oh, you are so wrong. Now is exactly the time to "point fingers" and point them at the Federal Government, that is to say, Bush and his administration. The colossal failure of the Federal Government to respond to the needs of these Americans, the poor, the sick, the young and the elderly...is inexcusable! This failure, this "man-made" disaster of a response to the natural disaster made things exponentially worse and people died! Thousands of people died! This is America. The Bush administration and Bush himself have bragged and boasted of their being the only ones who can "keep us safe here at home." Four years after 9-11 this is how they perform? To a disaster that came with a warning for God's sake. I am glad to see that finally, there is some progress but it came too little too late! Bush's incompetence and his government which dismantled FEMA and under funded the levee projects, not to mention fired the man who predicted the levee portion of the disaster...NO MR. Cornyn, you are wrong! This failure has disgraced America. It is unacceptable! It is the last straw.

25. Another letter to the newspaper about "the blame game"
It used to be there was right and wrong. I know it’s more complicated than that. I know about the shades of gray but it used to be that when you did something wrong when you were in public service the people you served knew that it was wrong. Now there is only “party loyalty” that’s when you are loyal to your party even unto death, not your death, but the death of others. Now it doesn’t matter if you are right or wrong as long as you get the “talking points” from your party and you repeat them ad nauseum. A great example of this right now is Senator Cornyn, from Texas, he along with many others, keep saying this phrase "don't play the blame game." This behavior is really kind of heartless given the consequences of the Federal Government's colossal failure to respond to Hurricane Katrina. He keeps saying that like we are playing some game. I say, it's not a blame game it's accountability for this immense failure that is obvious to everyone but Bush and his people. Nonetheless, Senator Cornyn, keeps saying that phrase over and over no doubt infuriating some Americans who still have their conscience.
