Has Any Other President Lost A Whole City?......
Maybe back in Civil War days.

But can you comprehend it - * lost a whole city.

5. Poppy Bush and Hurricane Andrew
It didn't wipe out Miami as feared, but it did cut a huge swath of destruction. It was also marked by widespread looting in rural and suburban regions--a compelling argument against the current buzz being created by Rove's Flying Monkeys which suggests that New Orleans went to hell because its citizens are criminals.

It was also characterized by incompetent response by FEMA, a proto-compassionate conservative stance by Bush the Smarter, and a widely observed plea to the press to lay off in an election season.

It's also worthy to note that future Governor Jeb Bush happened to be living in Miami at the time, and it would appear that he defied state, local, and federal entreaties to evacuate: "Bush and his family fled to a friend's house to avoid an expected storm surge and rode out the hurricane like many other Floridians."
