Will Government Condemn Land in NO and Buyout Displaced w/Pittance? |
|
There is a real concern among those being forcibly removed from their property in NO that they will never be allowed to return.
The great fear is that the land of the displaced will be "condemned" by the Government, and "purchased" by placing on deposit a mere pittance to acquire title from the true owners.
Fits right in with the recent Supreme Ct decision which held that governments could take private property under eminent domain and give it to other individuals and groups who might bring profit to the government entity(ie. development, tourism, etc.).
Does anyone believe that the displaced transported to far off places like Utah will be able to return and fight condemnation of their properties?
And who is likely to be given the land to develop it for the profit of the governement? hmmm.... Cheney has a few ideas!

5. Raise the lowest areas and return the land to the owners. |

Raise the land in the lowest areas to the level of the French Quarter. The homes in the lowest areas are simply destroyed.
Provide them with grants, tax breaks and no interest loans to rebuild.
