2. Abdication of power is shooting yourself and your partners in the foot.
There are many ways they can make "a statement" that would be a hundred times more thoughtful and effective than this kind of throwaway junk idea.

5. Congress has already abdicated power...
...and staging a 'walkout' would not take away their status of elected representative.

We're getting to the point where something LIKE a walkout is he only option left.

The Bush Imperial Presidency has shown time and again that they're untouchable and above the law.

7. We've become a spent force
Democrats in Congress seem to have lost it..!! We shockingly failed to effectively use the blunders of the Iraq war to our advantage to win the election. A mother starts an anti-war movement singlehandedly and our politicians keep a distance..!

And even now with the Hurricane Katrina fiasco, the Democrats will again allow Bush to get away with it..!

I don't even want to start talking about Shitheads appointments, because they make me furious.

I serious suspect Democrats have been infiltrated with Repukes..!! You'll never get a walkout from Congress by Dems.

8. I still say...
...that the Democrats in the Senate should filibuster all but *essential* bills until Bush resigns. He disqualified himself from legitimacy last week. If he had any honor or stature as a human being, he would already have resigned.

9. How about their going "on strike"
setting up a picket line?

A sit in?

Something designed to also keep the pukes from operating without them.

What's the rule on quorums?

I think there does need to be a HUGE demonstration of the displeasure of of "elected" officials - but it shouldn't just be an empty gesture. It has to have some serious effect or it means nothing.

Shutting down the government - EXCEPT for hurrican relief - would be one way.

No GD HEARINGS of FRICKING Roberts! That's a starter!

10. Nope
Even if there is a rule somewhere that the minority party must be present, the Repukes would just pass everything without them

11. That would certainly make it a lot easier
for Bush to push through his appointment to the federal bench (espceially O'Connor's replacement.
