What do you think CNN is trying to say by showing the |
|
"Vacation" clip from Fahrenheit 9/11 in its coverage of Katrina? Are they trying to tie Dems to "the Michael Moore wing" or are they saying they agree with him? Since most Repukes never saw F911, I think the latter.

1. I think they are saying, we screwed up then and here is what |
|
we should have been reporting. I think the media may have actually turned themselves around. Time will tell though.

2. I think they're showing that he's a "president" who prefers to take |
|
month long vacations which causes the country to be without a leader in our most dire time of need

4. After my second cup this morning I decided that the fact that I |
|
asked this question is CNN's cover against Repuke attacks on them.

It's definitely the latter, IMHO

5. I think CNN has decided that the left |
|
is more profitable than the right. I'm sure their ratings went up for Katrina. But, more importantly, I'm sure their email has shown that the left will watch if they are not right bias. And they can't argue with AAR's success. I think they have seen the light of left money, at least for awhile.

6. Maybe CNN has awaken to the fact that there is another "side"... |
|
Instead of kowtowing to Bush and his nazi's 24/7 maybe this disaster woke them up--or took them back to the Ted Turner days of CNN. Thats where you actually REPORT the facts as they come down, you don't make them up or bury them to fit a Republican administration.

7. Maybe wishful thinking... |
|
... on my part but this is what I think right now.
You really cannot change the "corporate culture" of an outfit like CNN on a dime. But many of their talking heads have been changed, overnight.
I won't name all the names, y'all know who I'm talking about - but many of these poeple at the scene have found that the policies of this adminstration are not some abstract concept to be gamed on the air day in and day out. They have real consequences, and people are dying.
I think many of these folks have undergone a transformation from which there is no return. Whether that translates into a new tenor from the whole network's reporting/commentary remains to be seen.
I'm hopeful.
