Counter to 'Blame Game' - Bush unwilling to take action to save lives |
|
It's clear to everyone who has seen the response to Katrina that there are serious problems in the system that have cost American lives. There are countless Republicans out saying 'don't play the blame game' and 'Democrats are divisive' - WE should be pointing out that Bush is unwilling to take action that will SAVE AMERICAN LIVES. The danger still exists, and Bush is unwilling to take action.
We need to pound this point in every time someone talks about the blame game. If Bush DOESN'T TAKE ACTION, Americans will die. Yes, he's got lots of folks down there working to recover from Katrina NOW, but what happens when the next natural disaster happens? Do we know when that will be? Do we know that California won't have the big one tomorrow and will need Federal aid to save people? Do we know that the hurricaines churning off the coast won't hit land - and are we sure there won't be more?
What Bush is doing is PREVENTING CHANGE that will save American lives. It's the equivalent of having a nuclear strike on American soil, and having Bush unwilling to take action against the perpetrator to protect American lives.
It's not about Blame, it's about CHANGE!!
