RNC Plotting '08 Convention In New Orleans?
sorry if already posted... search is disabled:

BY MICHAEL SNEED SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST
September 7, 2005
Sneed hears the Republicans may choose New Orleans as the site of their 2008 national convention.

*Word is top GOPers are being advised to consider such a selection in an effort to help rebuild the devastated city.

*But will the memory of the Superdome fiasco haunt them and cause a political backfire?

1. I wrote about this several days ago -
I can envision Bushco rebuilding NO, then holding the Republican convention there, taking full credit for what a wonderful, better place they made it.

Warm fuzzies all around.

8. I just wonder if there will even be a city left to hold a convention!
Hope the GOP plans to pitch a really big tent. I doubt there will be a building left standing big enough to hold that many morans.

2. Good! Have it at the Superdome! We'll turn off the power and ...
the water and lock you in for a week.

3. Actually the Democrats should hold ours there
It would be a good way of showing our determination to help the city and that we haven't given up on NO

9. I thought they were gonna have it at the moon colony
Bush was building as we head out to mars--where he has clearly been for decades.
