3. A true Republican... able to speak his own mind.
Seems like less and less Republicans are blindly following anymore.

12. Oh yeah, it's really great to vote for a relief package that half of
congress has not even looked at. I'm 100% sure that EVERY member of congress would vote for an HONEST relief package, rather than one that probably gives 1/4 of the money to Haliburton.

2. He's a maverick Republican.
I think he also just voted against the Katrina relief bill. Go figure.

4. I'm pretty sure that the Katrina relief bill had a lot of 'extras' in it.
Bonus payouts to Haliburton, etc.

Seems fishy that they wouldn't let any dems read it first.

8. How can that even be legal? Did they let the Republicans read
it first? I'm at the point that I think we should notify the police about Bushco and have them all arrested. This can not be legal.

9. I'm sure it did, just like the notorious 87 billion that
Kerry voted for before he voted against it.

Wow--did RP really just say "neo-Jacobins??"

Why is he still a Republican?

16. He ran for President on the Libertarian ticket
To him Democratic and Republican politicians are all the same -- unconstitutional spenders of his money.

I think he's speaking for an hour, and he's going way off the script.

11. He's long been a vocal opponent of the Iraq aggression.
He's moire of a true fiscal, non-interventionist Republican--closer to a small L libertarian than a Neocon--note how often he slagged the Neos.

13. Not a constituent of his
but I sent him an email from his website saying "Thank you".

I don't care if he's a Democrat or a Republican, a Liberal or a Conservative, a Christian or a Satanist. He's saying the things that need to be said and I believe we *must* support those who will truly speak truth to the people and truth to power.

Don't have time to check right now, but does anyone know if he's become a co-sponsor/signatory to the Resolution of Inquiry?

17. No surprise to anyone familiar with Ron Paul
He is more of a libertarian than a rethug. Go to his house website and read trancripts of his floor speeches.
