In small states, how much are Newspaper endorsements worth? |
|
In Iowa, just before the Edwards rapid rise at the end, he was endorsed by the Des Moines Register. In some more conservative areas of this country, the local paper carries a lot of weight.
Just two days ago, I heard that two papers in NH had endorsed John Edwards. Is he going to make another huge jump in NH? Will these endorsements have helped him again?

1. I think they help a lot |
|
I do take them into account here in Colorado. Most of my friends at least *mention* them - so I know they read them.

2. I don't think it matters too much.... |

For example, the Union Leader endorsing Lieberman.
In 2000, they endorsed Forbes.
Okay, so it's a conservative newspaper but, Forbes didn't go too far.
Maybe, it's just regional.
