PBS News hour covered Bush's poll ratings. |
|
And this reporter was seriously concerned about Bush's ratings. It was enjoyable. He compared it to Nixon's rating and Watergate. Said the admin should be very concerned.
Normally I take notes, sorry to be so vague. But is was excellent coverage of the weak numbers for Bush.

3. I remember reading that when Nixon's numbers tanked, |
|
a couple of high ranking Repugs visited him in the WH and told him the time had come to resign. Do you think there are any Repugs that georgie would respect enough to listen to about resigning. I can dream, can't I?

The Plame investigation ends up with an indictment against someone close to Bush (Rove, Libby, Cheney). If that happens, anything is possible.

that Nixon lost any chance that the Senate would vote not to convict him for high crimes and misdemeanors. So a group of Repug leaders went to him and said that if he didn't resign he would end up impeached and convicted and thrown out of office. Poll numnbers weren't the issue. If Nixon thought he had any chance of riding it out, he would have done so.

11. Both the Senate and House had solid democratic majorities... |
|
back then....
So, they demanded Nixon resign before he was actually impeached....

10. I think they are all too afraid of him. . .. |

Between the fundies and the neo-cons, the Reich's army is more interested in intimidation than popularity. Most Repukes seem to be too afraid to do much more than regurgitate talking points.

Maybe it was Khruschev.
