"We're trying to do something, but they won't issue the orders..."

That's just one of the quotes from FEMA staff as told to this 22 year FEMA veteran, Jane Bullock, who also spent almost 8 years as Chief of Staff to the head of FEMA under the Clinton Administration.

This woman, Jane Bullock, who is now working outside Government as a Disaster Consultant, is not afraid to name names!

This is from an excellent 5 minute interview from this Morning's "Weekend Edition Saturday" on NPR. The interview can be heard on line at the link below.

Here's another quote, when asked what she thought of the performance of FEMA in response to Hurricane Katrina,

"This is the worst Federal response to ANY disaster I have EVER seen in my career at FEMA and outside of FEMA."

FEMA Veteran Decries Agency's Storm Response

Listen to this story...(at link above)

Weekend Edition - Saturday, September 10, 2005 · Jane Bullock, a career employee of the Federal Emergency Disaster Agency, says the federal response to the storm was the worst she's seen in 22 years on the job. She tells Scott Simon a major mistake was a failure to have boats, helicopters and other resources in place early enough.

1. And the Republicans - well, the Bushbots, to be exact, will still
blame the governor and the mayor.

4. Another excellent interview by NPR -- A great point by Bullock
was that we can't expect State & Local government to be disaster managers...part of FEMAs job is to guide them.

She also lays blame squarely on Brown & Chertoff.
