The Dalai Lama should be interesting. I'm sure Mayor Nagin will have plenty to say. Coast Guard Vice Adm. Thad Allen and Army Lt. Gen. Russel Honore will get the info out as to what is being done now...unlike the ShrubCo Spin Machine. Will Rep.Pelosi and Sen. Landrieu continue their speaking out in no uncertain terms? Will Sen. Vitter back-peddle from his earlier criticisms? And why IS Gov. Pataki on there???? Tune in tomorrow to find out!

11. Nagin should be prepared to be hit really hard. The Faux

spinners are simply thrashing he and Blanco. Fred Barnes has all but launched a citizen's arrest of Blanco. It's the fault of everyone but Bush. They are already talking about how he can overcome this. The think "Brownie" is a fall guy. When I watched the insufferable Brit Hume's show yesterday, they discussed the dismissal of Brownie and made no mention of the fact that this bafoon had no qualifications for the position and lied gratuitously on his resume. It's all about saving Bush's incompotent hide.

They are really pathetic. The administration, in a free society has their own personal Pravda.

Mayor Nagin speaks out

In a stark reminder of how drastically Hurricane Katrina has impacted the lives of New Orleanians, Mayor Ray Nagin has purchased a home for his family in Dallas and enrolled his young daughter in school there.
Nagin, who spoke with The Times-Picayune by telephone from Dallas, where he has been since Wednesday, said he planned to return to New Orleans on Saturday. He said he will remain in the Crescent City while his family lives for the next six months in Dallas, making occasional visits to his family when possible.

It’s not clear where Nagin will be living: His home along Bayou St. John suffered massive flooding, the mayor said, although he has not inspected it.

In a brief but wide-ranging interview, the mayor reflected on the tragedies of the past two weeks, acknowledging that he may have made some mistakes but said that he hopes others in positions of authority – including President George W. Bush and Gov. Kathleen Blanco -- are scrutinized as closely as he and his staff have been.

"I’m not pointing any fingers at anyone," Nagin said. "But I was in the fire. I was down there. Where were they? I’m confident the truth is gonna come out. But I want everybody’s record analyzed just as hard as mine."

"Listen, this was unprecedented. Nothing has ever happened like this. For people to sit back and say, ‘You should have done this, you should have done that’ … it’s Monday morning quarterbacking. They can shoot if they want, but I was there, and I will have the facts."

10. In NYC, we don't get many pundits this weekend.

Every local channel is showing the 4th annual WTC mourning ceremony live. That's right, we get a four-hour look at stock footage of personal death and destruction mixed with stupid political hackery, all set in the biggest and cleanest concrete hole you ever saw.

Four years later, no building on ground zero. Kinda like New Orleans will look after Operation Enduring F#ckup, after clearing the swamp water, PR folks, and visible poor. On the other hand, Trump Tower went up in seven months.

This Week, Face the Nation, just scrubbed. MTP, Matthews and McLaughlin pushed to past lunchtime. General Electric cares more about maintaining message than Viacom and Disney. Faux Sunday rerunning in different 6pm slot.

Rather watch the idiots scream at each other, but there's such a rubber-neck mentality about the reliving the deaths of 3000 beloved and long lost neighbors.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one getting tired of all of these "commemorations" every year....I actually left NYC this weekend to try to avoid some of it....What a mess the whole ground zero rebuilding thing, or whatever they're calling it, is.

I mourn the dead and every September, when the sky is that clear blue and the weather is heavenly, I remember...but I really could do without all of the fanfare every Sept 11.

He was brilliant. Can't give a check to a fellow with no checking account, many people can't afford gas two days before pay day (Katrina hit on the 29th), Davis-Bacon should not be sidelined. "The usual" as you say, apparently dismissively, is the issue that Edwards was talking about in the primaries and Kerry should have had him continue to talk about, and Kerry, when elected, should have had his administration do something about.
